Gladys R. Gant

Gladys R. Gant, 84, formally of Middletown, Virginia, died Tuesday, February 1, 2000 at the Abors at Canton, Ohio.

Mrs. Gant was born April 28, 1915 in Warren County, the daughter of the late John Baker and Mary Jackson Baker. She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Canton, Ohio. She was an honorary member and Past Matron of Apple Blossom Chapter # 196, Eastern Star F & AM.

She was married to Calvin Gant Sr.

Surviving with her husband of Canton are one son, Calvin Gant Jr. of Middletown, Va.; three daughters, Josephine Allen of Stone Mountain GA, Dorothy Stevenson of Massillon, OH, Bernice Taylor of Canton, Oh; a brother, Jacob Franklin of Harrisburg, PA; a sister, Estelle Fletcher of Front Royal, Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren

A home going service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2000 at Church of Christ at Mountain View in Winchester, Virginia. Burial will be in Orrick Cemetery in Winchester, Virginia.

Visitation will be Saturday, one hour before service at the church

Pallbearers will be Mark Stevenson, Melvin Allen, Jr., Edward Taylor, Jr., Fabian Franklin, Craig Franklin and Taylor Gant.
